Public services in regulated sectors are regulated by the public Utilities Commission (hereinafter - SPRK).
In accordance with Section 2, Paragraph two, Clause 1 of the Law on Regulators of public Utilities, energy as a business is one of the public services regulated by the State.
Section 9, Paragraph one of the Law on Regulators of public Utilities provides that one of the functions of the Regulator is to determine the methodology for calculation of tariffs and to determine tariffs, if sectoral special laws do not provide for other procedures for determination of tariffs.
